Two or three times a week, not daily. Lukewarm water, a sulphate-free shampoo worked through the roots and lengths with a light hand.
Condition the mid-lengths to the ends, never the bonds. Rinse until the water runs clear, then press the water out - don't wring.
DRYING & BRUSHING
Dry with patience. Brush from the ends up.
Air dry whenever you can. If you blow-dry, keep it cool and low, and away from the bonds.
Brush with a soft loop brush, from the tips upward, holding the root in your other hand so there's no pull on the bonds. Never brush hair that's soaking wet.
NIGHT & WATER
Sleep on it dry. Swim with a little forethought.
Dry before bed, gather it into a loose braid or low plait, and rest on a silk pillowcase. The friction of cotton is what frays fine hair over time - yours and this.
Before you swim, wet the hair with clean water and tie it back, so it drinks less chlorine or salt. Rinse and condition as soon as you're out. The sea and the pool are hard on all fine hair; a little forethought is all it takes.
A short, firm list.
Reach for
A sulphate-free shampoo. A light conditioner. A few drops of fine oil for the ends. A soft loop brush. A silk pillowcase.
Leave on the shelf
Sulphates and heavy alcohol. Toning or purple products used without our guidance. Oil or heavy cream near the bonds. High, direct heat on the bonds.
Every few months, we bring it back to new.
The bonds are gently reset to follow your hair as it grows - tape-ins every six to eight weeks, keratin tips every three to four months. Between visits, if anything ever feels off, write to us. We'd always rather hear from you early than late.
