What is L'hair?
L'hair offers raw, single-donor human hair extensions in two installation methods: Tape-Ins and Keratin Tips. Every order begins with a Professional Match — your hair is paired by a person to your texture, density, tone, length, and intended wear, before the work is made. We sell directly through this site and to salon partners by application.
Who is L'hair for?
L'hair is for clients who care about quality at a meaningful level and who appreciate a considered buying process. Many of our clients work with a private stylist or trusted colorist.

The Hair
What does "raw" hair mean?
Raw means the hair has not been chemically treated. No color stripping, no factory dye, no perming, no silicone coating. It is exactly as it grew - natural pigment, natural texture, natural variation strand to strand, cuticle intact and aligned in one direction.
What's the difference between Remy and L’hair?
Remy and raw describe two different things. Remy refers to cuticle direction — the strands all face the same way, root to tip. Raw refers to processing - hair that has not been chemically treated. All raw hair is Remy, because an intact cuticle is naturally aligned. Remy hair is not always raw, because alignment is separate from whether the hair has been treated. L'hair is raw.
Why does single-donor matter?
Hair from one head moves together. The strands share the same natural color, the same porosity, the same density per strand, and the same behavior under color and heat. The result is consistency through the strand.
What does "cuticle intact" mean?
The cuticle is the outer protective layer of each hair strand. When intact and aligned, hair behaves under washing, coloring, and styling as it should. L'hair's cuticle is intact.
Has the hair been processed in any way?
No chemical processing. The hair is gently cleaned. That's all.
Where does the hair come from?
Our hair mostly comes from Eastern Europe and Brazil.
Choosing Your Method
What's the difference between Tape-Ins and Keratin Tips?
Tape-Ins are 1.5-inch polyurethane tabs of raw hair, applied in pairs that sandwich a thin slice of the client's natural hair near the root. They lie flat against the scalp.
Keratin Tips are individual strands of raw hair bonded at the root with a small heat-fused keratin polymer tip, hand-rolled by your stylist around a small section of natural hair. The bonds are translucent and nearly invisible.
Which method should I choose?
Your Professional Match will guide this. The answer depends on your hair density, your scalp, your styling habits, and what you want the extensions to do.
Can I use both methods?
In some cases, yes - your stylist can advise.
The Professional Match
Why is there a Hair Profile instead of an "Add to Cart" button?
The wrong color, density, length, or method produces an unsatisfying result no matter how good the hair is. The Professional Match exists to make sure the right hair is sent the first time.
What happens during the Professional Match?
You complete a short Hair Profile covering your current hair, your goals, and reference photos. A consultant reviews your Profile personally and responds by email — usually within two business days - with recommendations or questions.
How long does the entire process take?
Six to eight weeks from Hair Profile submission to delivery. Every order is made to your match - we do not carry stock.
What if my hair doesn't match anything you offer?
It can happen. Raw, single-donor hair has narrower available shades than dyed hair. If your tone isn't workable in your timeline, we will tell you.
Can I order without the Professional Match?
No.
Color, Styling, and Daily Wear
Can the hair be colored?
Yes. Because the cuticle is intact and the hair has not been chemically treated, it accepts color the way bio hair does. Any color work should be done by a colorist experienced with extensions.
Can the hair be bleached?
Yes, within reason - consult your colorist. Bleach is bleach, and any chemical service shortens lifespan. Many clients order L'hair already at the desired tone to avoid lifting.
What if I want highlights, or a color that isn't natural, like platinum blonde?
We match you to the closest natural shade. From there, your colorist can take the hair to your desired color, or our in-house colorist can do the work for a fee. Your Professional Match covers both options.
Will the color fade?
All colored hair fades with washing, sun, and time - including the natural color on your own head. L'hair holds color the way bio hair holds color. A glaze or toner refresh every few months keeps depth consistent.
Can I heat-style it?
Yes. For specific styling and temperature, consult your stylist.
Will it tangle?
Properly cared for, no. The cuticle is aligned in one direction, which prevents friction-induced tangling. Tangling at the root area can happen if extensions aren't brushed regularly - same as long natural hair.
Care and Longevity
How long will my extensions last?
Tape-Ins are typically worn 6-8 weeks per installation. Keratin Tips are typically worn 3-4 months per installation. With careful handling, the same raw hair can serve a client across multiple installations.
Can the hair be reused?
Yes - both methods can be reapplied. Reuse and reapplication are handled by your stylist; discuss it with them at your appointment.
How do I wash my extensions?
Wash gently in the direction the hair falls. Avoid sulfates, silicones, and applying shampoo at the bond line. Your stylist will advise on specifics for your install.
Can I swim with them?
Yes, with care. Wet your hair with clean water before swimming so the strands absorb fresh water rather than chlorinated. Rinse and condition after.
Can I work out?
Yes. Tie hair up or braid before exercise. Wash within a few hours of an intense workout.
Can I sleep with them?
Yes. A loose braid or low ponytail and a silk or satin pillowcase help. Your stylist will advise on what works for your install.
Are there products to avoid?
Alcohol near the bonds, heavy oils at the root, and clarifying shampoos. Your stylist can advise on products that work with your install.
Installation and Removal
Who installs L'hair extensions?
A licensed stylist trained in the relevant method. We provide the hair; installation is done by your chosen stylist.
Do I need to find my own stylist?
Yes. Choose one experienced in the method you're installing and confident with raw hair.
How long does installation take?
It varies by method and density. Your stylist will quote the time for your install.
How are L'hair extensions removed?
Each method has its own removal process, handled by your stylist with the appropriate solvent for the bond type. Removal should be done by a stylist, not at home.
Will my own hair be damaged?
When installation and removal are handled correctly, no. Choose your stylist carefully.
Investment and Delivery
Why does L'hair cost what it does?
The hair is raw, single-donor, and collected by relationship from a verified network. Every order is reviewed and matched by a person and made for one client. The price reflects what the work requires.
How long does shipping take?
Six to eight weeks from Hair Profile submission to delivery, including production and shipping. Timelines are confirmed during your Professional Match.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship everywhere. Shipping cost is quoted during your Professional Match.
Can I return my order?
Each order is made for a specific client. Returns are evaluated case by case. If something is wrong on our end, we make it right. If you've changed your mind about a correctly-fulfilled order, we work with you to find a resolution.
Do you offer a warranty?
We stand behind the hair for its expected lifespan when properly cared for. If you experience excessive shedding, premature breakage, or another quality issue within the first 90 days of installation, write to us. Damage from installation, removal, or care isn't covered.
